Vote for Homes!
The Election 2007: Vote for Homes! Coalition is a nonpartisan [PDF, 37K] advocacy effort focused on the issues of affordable housing, living-wage jobs, and quality services in the Philadelphia Mayoral Election. Since 1999, Vote for Homes! has registered more than 9,500 voters and mobilized thousands to vote.
The Election 2007: Vote for Homes! Coalition is guided by the principle that everyone deserves a place to call home. The coalition seeks to accomplish the following goals:
- Raise issues of affordable housing, living-wage jobs, and quality services in the Philadelphia Mayoral Election.
- Empower people who are living on low-incomes, including those who are homeless, living with disabilities, or ex-offenders, to become involved in the electoral process.
- Protect and ensure the voting rights of all citizens, particularly those who are frequently disenfranchised.
Currently, we are registering and educating voters. Prior to the Primary Election, we will produce a nonpartisan Voters Guide and host a candidates forum and other events.
