Vote for Homes!

The Election 2007: Vote for Homes! Coalition is a nonpartisan [PDF, 37K] advocacy effort focused on the issues of affordable housing, living-wage jobs, and quality services in the Philadelphia Mayoral Election. Since 1999, Vote for Homes! has registered more than 9,500 voters and mobilized thousands to vote.

The Election 2007: Vote for Homes! Coalition is guided by the principle that everyone deserves a place to call home. The coalition seeks to accomplish the following goals:

  1. Raise issues of affordable housing, living-wage jobs, and quality services in the Philadelphia Mayoral Election.
  2. Empower people who are living on low-incomes, including those who are homeless, living with disabilities, or ex-offenders, to become involved in the electoral process.
  3. Protect and ensure the voting rights of all citizens, particularly those who are frequently disenfranchised.

Currently, we are registering and educating voters. Prior to the Primary Election, we will produce a nonpartisan Voters Guide and host a candidates forum and other events.
