Academic Technology & Network Administrator

The Administrator will manage & support the Honickman Learning Center & Comcast Technology Labs (HLC&CTL) network and work collaboratively with HLC & CTL Staff to identify, manage and support the technology needs (including data & voice).  Primary responsibilities include: managing & supporting the network (Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & XP Professional) including back office server and application support, desktop (PC and Mac OS 10) and peripheral support, and audio/visual/multimedia support at the HLC&CTL; and providing thought leadership for applying new technology to enable users to perform their job functions effectively and efficiently. The Administrator will also assist HLC&CTL Program Managers in assessing software & other IT tools needed to better deliver their educational goals, purchasing, implementing and managing the appropriate tools on an on-going basis, and training staff to use the tools effectively.  Qualified candidates must have a minimum BS/BA (in an IT related field preferred), a minimum of 3-5 years with expertise in managing a Microsoft Windows 2000 - 2003 client/server environment, and leadership ability. Additional requirements include a solid understanding of how hardware, software, network and user sensibility intersect; the ability to research, analyze, plan, manage and implement technology applications; strong facilitation, presentation and training delivery skills; excellent organizational and planning skills; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; ability to successfully work independently and function as an integral part of a team; experience in working with diverse populations; and technology support experience in an academic setting a plus. Knowledge and understanding of mental health issues, homelessness, unemployment, underemployment, poverty, and social justice preferred. Location: Honickman Learning Center & Comcast Technology Labs, 1936 N. Judson Street , Philadelphia PA ; Schedule: 40 hours per week M - F
