Kitchen Coordinator
This position is located at St. Columba's, which is a safe haven and residence for 40 men who have a history of chronic homelessness with severe mental illness, failing physical health and some co-occurring substance abuse disorders. The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the cooking, upkeep, cleanliness and good order of the kitchen. Duties include: ensuring compliance and meeting regulations required by Licensing & Inspection; ordering and maintaining inventory of food and cleaning supplies; preparing and serving meals during lunch & dinner; supervising volunteers; support & train residents to assist with preparing and serving meals to obtain and sustain self sufficiency; coordinating weekly shopping; and preparing menus. Qualified candidates must have a HS Diploma or equivalent, prior experience with food preparation and cooking, the ability to read and follow recipes, knowledge of healthy foods/balanced diet, strong organizational and administrative skills, good interpersonal skills, previous experience working with adults with mental health issues preferred and/or comfortable interacting with individuals with mental health issues required and prior supervisory experience helpful. Will be required to have &/or obtain a driver's license, meet Project H.O.M.E. Car & Driver's Insurance clearance and obtain SafeServe certification within 90 days . Location: 4133 Chestnut Street . Scheduled Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30- 4:30
