Part Time Manager - Our Daily Threads
The role of the Manager of Our Daily Threads is to oversee the daily operations including the management and supervision of employees (residents) who will operate Our Daily Threads Thrift Store. The store will be staffed exclusively by formerly homeless men and women, requiring training, mentoring and coaching. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to the supervision, scheduling, training & mentoring of staff, performing administrative & accounting procedures, inventory control, providing experience & training in retail, and customer service, organizing of special events (e.g. clearance sales), publicity / marketing of overall store. Spearhead business improvement efforts (e.g. re-branding, marketing), keeping ODT in compliance with all Health Department regulations. Work with others in the development of the "canteen" component to sell beverages and snacks.
Qualified candidates must have:
- A high school diploma or GED;
- A minimum of 1 year related experience in a retail environment;
- Prior management or supervision experience;
- Excellent organizational, planning, verbal, written and interpersonal skills;
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
- Strong math skills and knowledge of Quick Books preferred;
- The ability to work independently and function as an integral part of a team;
- Interest in working in social enterprises, peer/resident run business;
- Experience working with adult, non-traditional workers and a diverse population.
Schedule: 15 hours per week Location: 1515 Fairmount Avenue
