Teen Program Academic Technology Specialist
The Academic Technology Specialist will work in collaboration with the Teen Program Manager and Instructors to develop, provide and evaluate instruction and programs geared towards raising the academic, technology, college-readiness and employment skills of neighborhood youth (grades 7-12). Responsibilities include: research, identify and develop curriculum for project-based learning classes that build academic skills and technology competencies and that align with State and technology standards; provide classroom instruction and collaborate with instructional staff on lesson plans; coordinate and collaborate with instructional staff on assessing/tracking student and program outcomes; coordinate academic support and tutoring program; oversee classroom technology and collaborate with Network Administrator to resolve classroom technology issues. Qualifications include: Bachelor Degree in Education, M.A. preferred; a minimum of 5 years experience in teaching and curriculum development (middle/high school youth); experience with assessment and integrating technology with academics; excellent organization, communication, and computer skills; understanding of and commitment to youth development principles. If hired, candidate must receive satisfactory clearance of child abuse and criminal background checks. Location: Honickman Learning Center/Comcast Technology Labs, 1936 N. Judson Street , Philadelphia , PA. Hours: 2:00-6:00pm Monday-Friday with some evening/weekend commitments.
