Teen Program Assistant (PT)
The Teen Program Assistant is a newly created position and will work in collaboration with the Teen Program staff to develop, provide and evaluate instruction and programs geared towards raising the academic, technology, college-readiness and employment skills of neighborhood youth (grades 7-12). Responsibilities include: provide direct service support to Young Entrepreneur/Employment program, College Access Program and Open Computer Lab component; provide coordination and support to volunteer tutoring/academic support program; and collaborate with instructional staff on assessing/tracking student and program outcomes. Qualifications include: Bachelor Degree preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of college completed; experience in working with urban youth; classroom management and instruction; prior administrative experience preferred; understanding of and commitment to youth development principles; ability to work independently and function as an integral part of a team; excellent organization, communication, and computer skills. Must have a valid driver's license, able to pass Van Safety Test and insurance clearance. Additionally, any candidate considered for this position must be able to satisfactorily complete criminal & child abuse check. Location: Honickman Learning Center/Comcast Technology Labs, 1936 N. Judson Street , Philadelphia , PA. Hours: 20 hours per week ( 2:00-6:00pm Monday-Friday with some evening/Saturday commitments) and additional hours during 7 week summer program.
