Project HOME’s individual and group volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year. These opportunities directly honor the volunteer program’s mission, which is to engage the community in our work through building capacity, broadening engagement, and bridging the gaps in our society to comprehensively support Project HOME in establishing concrete solutions to ending homelessness and poverty. Join us!

Individuals and groups can give back to their community by providing and serving a meal at one of Project HOME’s residence sites throughout the city. The provision and service of a meal to formerly homeless men and women strengthens a sense of community and enhances our mission by highlighting the transformational power of building relationships. Residents love culinary complexities as much as pizza and cookies, so feel free to be creative or go with an old favorite!

Reservations are required to donate or serve a meal.   Click here to view and register for available meal service opportunities.

From Thanksgiving to the New Year, Project HOME has many opportunities for involvement to help make the holidays a special time for our community.

Thanksgiving Drives – Help ensure every community member has a Thanksgiving meal this November. We invite you to donate frozen turkeys and/or Thanksgiving turkey baskets (including a frozen turkey and fixings to complete a Thanksgiving meal). Please e-mail [email protected] for more details!

Gift Card Drive - Help formerly homeless and low-income men, women, and children have a happy holiday season. We need donations of $30 gift cards to CVS, Rite-Aid, Walmart, Target or Old Navy to give to Project HOME residents and after-school students. Contact vcoordinator.org if you would like to donate individual cards, “adopt” a residence or program, or would like more information.

Holiday Meal - Host a special holiday party for residents of Project HOME – Volunteers can help celebrate the holidays with Project HOME residents around Christmas time. This is a great one-time opportunity for this group. Help set up, bring and serve food, run activities, and spread holiday cheer to our residents.

Run a holiday drive – Volunteers can participate in collecting items for our holiday drive. Items that we are in great need of are:
• Toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving cream, razors
• Men's and Women's underwear
• Feminine Hygiene products
• Hand sanitizer
• Laundry detergent
• Linens - sheets, blankets, pillows, pillowcases (twin or double size)
• Towels and washcloths
• Shower caps and shower shoes
• New warm-weather clothing, such as sweatpants, sweatshirts, coats, hats, scarves, gloves (men's and women's)
