Day Without A Woman

Many people are taking action on International Women’s Day on March 8 as part of the “A Day Without a Woman” campaign  – a movement for equity, justice and the human rights of women and all gender-oppressed people, through a one-day demonstration of economic solidarity.

In honor of International Women’s Day, the Project HOME Community is gathering for a noon potluck to celebrate and honor the struggle of women in our community.

The Philadelphia Homeless Memorial Day Planning Committee is reaching out to you to help gather the names of homeless and formerly homeless women, men, and children who died in 2015 (and since last year’s remembrance on 12/18/14). This year’s Homeless Memorial Day will take place on Wednesday, December 21. The location is Thomas Paine Plaza and the time is 5:00 p.m. Please join us.

Vote For Homes will be providing ride for people who are homeless, formerly homeless, or returning citizens. Please fill out a ride request form so we have all the information.

Also, please post this Voter Rights Information Poster at your program, shelter, or affordable housing. TIME TO GET OUT THE VOTE!

Mobilize Voters with the Vote For Homes Coalition!

Join Vote For Homes in our nonpartisan effort to mobilize voters by supporting the voting rights of people who are low-income, homeless, living with disabilities, or formerly incarcerated.

We need volunteers to help us call voters and remind them about the election, and to provide a limited number of rides for voters to the polls on Election Day, November 8th.

Please let us know your availability for training and to volunteer before and on Election Day.

Join Vote For Homes in our ongoing nonpartisan effort to register voters by learning about how to support the voting rights of people who are low-income, homeless, living with disabilities, or formerly incarcerated.

We are hosting trainings for voter registration so register here.

If you want to help with calling voters or getting people to the polls, you can sign up here to be notified about future opportunities.

Videographer Christopher Brown cut together his footage of Mayor Kenney discussing how he would work to end homelessness and alleviate poverty in Philadelphia from the May 7, 2015 Vote For Homes Real Solutions to Hunger and Homelessness Mayoral Forum and created this terrific piece above. Definitely worth your time. After watching, make sure to sign the Vote For Homes welcome letter to Mayor Kenney and ask him to keep ending poverty and homelessness as the center of his work.
