The summer program at the Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs provides a safe, fun and supportive environment for incoming K-8 grade students.
Summer activities include literary and math enrichment, one-on-one tutoring, technology skill building, art, swimming, and cultural learning experiences. Past activities have included trips to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, the Funplex in Mt. Laurel, the Elmwood Park Zoo, Rolling Thunder, and the Please Touch Museum.
Students enjoy learning in our air-conditioned, state-of-the-art technology labs. Math and literacy activities are enhanced through the use of award-winning web-based software programs such as Dreambox Learning and Reading Eggs.
Additionally, the summer program offers students a chance to explore the arts through volunteer lead activities such as Hip Hop dance or drama.
We also offer STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) programming in conjunction with our community partner institutions. Summer camp students are served a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day.
The camp is open first to children who are currently enrolled in the After-school Program, but is based on an application and first-come, first-served basis. The six-week program runs five days a week from 8 am to 4 pm.
