PECO/Exelon Veterans Training and Employment Program

On a beautiful afternoon in mid-July, eleven remarkable men and women were celebrated for graduating from PECO/Excelon Employment Program.  All of them were veterans of the U.S. military, including representatives from all four branches of the service – army, navy, marine corps, and air force.  Also, all of them had worked hard to overcome experiences of homelessness.

Project HOME Annual PECO/Exelon-sponsored Veterans Gathering

On the beautiful Fall evening before Veteran’s Day, Employment Services hosted our 3rd annual gathering of veterans which included the current graduation class to those who were graduated in 2009, out first class.  It is always a joy to see the graduates so pleased with their accomplishments and the many Alums who return to share this day with them and their fellow classmates.

Project HOME and PECO recently celebrated the graduation of the latest PECO/Exelon Veterans Training and Employment Program class. The video above was shown as part of the presentation and highlights the program and graduate Thomas Walker, Jr., who is emblematic of the fine men and women who have successfully passed through the program over the years.

A dozen formerly homeless veterans celebrated Monday as they graduated from a special program designed to get them back into the workforce.

The ten men and two women graduated from the PECO/Exelon Veterans Training and Employment Program, a job skills and internship experience which leads to employment.

Project HOME’s Employment Services celebrated Veterans Day with our 2nd annual gathering of graduates and our current class of veteran apprentices engaged in the PECO/ Project HOME Veteran Training Program. Attendees were from the 2009 class up to and including the current class.

There is a special bond which forms between veterans who have served their country and that is evident in these gatherings notwithstanding the small, friendly rivalries between the different branches of service.

The fifth annual graduation ceremony for the PECO/Exelon Veterans Training and Employment Program - held on April 21 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Hotel Roof-Top Room - brought out current graduates and program alumni, all of them ready to celebrate both their substantial achievements and the transformative program that provided their fresh start.

Ten US military veterans, all formerly homeless, graduated today from a job training program during ceremonies at a center city Philadelphia hotel.

The five-year-old program helps these men and women rebuild their lives by getting the skills needed to handle a civilian workplace.

One graduate, Andre Hargrave, says he had a lot to learn after his time in the Army.
