Homeless Memorial Day
Project HOME and other like-minded organizations and individuals will gather for the annual Homeless Persons Memorial Day event on Thursday, December 18, at Arch Street Meeting House. The event will once again bring together advocates and groups to honor and remember all who passed away in Philadelphia without a place to call home over the last year. All are welcome.
Homeless Persons Memorial Day is a national event that takes place on or around the first day of winter and the longest night of the year. Since the early 1990s, a coalition of Philadelphia advocates, providers, and homeless/formerly homeless persons have commemorated the event locally with a special gathering to remember our homeless sisters and brothers who have died and to recommit ourselves to working to end homelessness in our city.
Attendees and speakers include:
- PA State Senator Nikil Saval
- PA State Representative Ismail Smith-Wade-El
- Councilmember Nicolas O'Rourke
- Councilmember Jamie Gauthier
- Project HOME President and CEO Donna Bullock
