Homeless Memorial Day 2021

Each year, on the winter solstice, "the longest night of the year," hundreds of Philadelphians gather to remember and honor those who have passed away this year and experienced homelessness during their lifetime.

We have made much progress in Philadelphia in combating homelessness, but the crisis persists. The opioid epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic are claiming hundreds of lives. We must continue to speak out about the struggles of people who experience homelessness and poverty. We must all work together – including elected officials – to expand effective solutions and end homelessness.

For more information on this year's memorial and to submit names of those who have experienced homelessness and died in 2021, visit to the Homeless Memorial Day page. And please RSVP to the Facebook event
